Transport questions

Car Transport Questions | Super Cheap Car Transport

Straight answers about the details that affect a quote, the choices that can reduce cost, and the preparation that helps collection go smoothly.

Getting an accurate car transport quote

Why do the vehicle details matter so much?

The quote has to match the vehicle a transport truck will collect. Give the correct make, model, year, and running condition. Tell us about anything that changes its normal size or loading needs, including a lift, roof rack, pod, bull bar, tow bar, or lowered suspension.

Why did I not get an instant price?

Some requests need manual pricing because the vehicle, location, timing, or collection conditions sit outside a standard move. That extra check is better than returning an instant price that does not fit the job.

What should I disclose about a modified or oversized vehicle?

Provide the height, width, and length from the furthest points of the vehicle, including fitted accessories. A lifted four-wheel drive is not the same loading job as the standard model, even when the make and model are unchanged.

Can you quote a non-running or damaged vehicle?

Yes, but it needs a closer check. Tell us whether the vehicle can be driven safely onto a truck, whether it rolls and steers, whether the brakes work, whether the keys are available, and what damage it has. The job may need different equipment or handling.

What if the vehicle only starts sometimes?

Treat an unreliable vehicle as a non-running risk and tell us before booking. A flat battery at collection can prevent loading or create another charge if the booked equipment does not suit the vehicle.

Choosing depot, door, and pickup options

Is depot-to-depot normally cheaper?

It is often the lowest-cost option when suitable depots are available at both ends. The cheapest practical combination still depends on the locations, vehicle, and services offered in your quote.

Can a flexible pickup window reduce the price?

It can increase the available options, especially for rural or outer-area collections. If you need collection on one exact day, say so. If any day within a wider window works, include that flexibility when requesting the quote.

What does backloading mean for car transport?

Backloading uses space on a vehicle transporter that is returning or continuing with spare capacity. It can produce a lower quote, but timing and conditions depend on the available movement. Check the written option rather than assuming it is identical to another service.

Keys, calls, and vehicle handover

Do I need to provide the keys?

Yes. The person handing over the vehicle must be able to provide the keys and help the driver complete the collection.

Can someone else hand over or receive the vehicle?

A nominated person can usually do this when the booking allows it. They must be available, answer the driver's calls, and have any authority or identification required for that collection or delivery.

Why should I answer calls from a private number?

Drivers may call from a private number to arrange the handover. Make sure the nominated contact knows to answer and can liaise with the driver.

Will the vehicle condition be recorded?

The selected transport provider normally records the vehicle's condition at collection. The format varies, so review the handover and delivery records provided for your booking.

Transit estimates and delays

Are transit times guaranteed?

No. Transit windows are estimates for a long-distance road movement. Weather, floods, road closures, congestion, and other operating conditions can extend the trip.

Do weekends and public holidays count?

Some quoted transit windows use business days and exclude weekends or public holidays. Read the timing basis in your written quote instead of assuming every estimate is calculated the same way.

Personal items, changes, and auction pickups

Can I leave personal items in the vehicle?

Remove valuables and leave the vehicle empty unless goods-in-car transport has been explicitly included and confirmed. Weight, placement, prohibited-item, and risk rules depend on the selected booking.

What if I need to change or cancel a booking?

Check the written quote and booking confirmation, then use the portal contact page. Charges and refund conditions depend on the accepted booking and when the request is made.

Can you collect a car from the auctions?

Yes, when the vehicle and collection conditions are suitable. Auction houses can refuse to release a vehicle without the right paperwork. Use the dedicated auction transport guide and confirm the current requirements before dispatch.

Start a vehicle quote, or use the portal contact page when the job needs a manual check.

Next step

Use the quote path for standard running vehicles.

If the vehicle is a normal running job and the pickup and delivery are straightforward, start with the quote path. If access, timing, route details, or vehicle condition need more explanation first, contact the team.
